Visiting the best tiger reserves in India is the primary option for gaining wild adventure experiences. The National Tiger Conservation Authority of the Government of India established and managed the Tiger Reserves in 1973 as part of Project Tiger. A tiger reserve consists of a core area that includes parts of protected areas, such as a national park or wildlife shelter, a buffer zone, and various forest and non-forest land. Project Tiger maintains the necessary actions to ensure the viability of the tiger population in the core area. Keeping human and creature existence balanced in the buffer zone is also vital.

Apart from tigers, this one of the largest tiger reserves in India is also home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including sambar deer, leopards, sloths, bears, and species of birds.

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve was declared a national park in 1968 and included in Project Tiger in 1973. It is over 105 sq km in Umaria, Madhya Pradesh. It has a high population of Royal Bengal Tigers and is home to the antique Bandhavgarh Fort, believed to be over 2,000 years old.

Sunderbans Tiger Reserve got declaration a national park in 1984 and later included in Project Tiger in 1973, located in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Idia’s biggest tiger reserve is home to various endangered species, including reptiles, birds,  and sea mammals. Unlike most national parks and reserves, the Sunderbans do not prefer jeep safaris. They are only available by boat with a guide. Visitors can explore the mangrove forests & spot wildlife. In addition to wildlife safaris, they can enjoy camping, fishing, and bird watching in the Sunderbans Tiger Reserve.
